Question: How do you deal with writer’s block?
Answer: With a tall glass of wine and chocolate. Lots of chocolate.
We all face it. And if you’re lucky enough to say, ‘not me!’, just you wait. It’s coming for ya.
In my opinion, writer’s block happens when I’m burnt out and lacking inspiration. The best way I have learned to deal with this pesky problem is to relax. Take a break. Take a walk. Read a book. Watch a movie. Do a puzzle. Call your mom. Play tennis. In short, have fun NOT writing. Don’t think about the book. Go on mental holiday. This might be terrifying. You may think that you’ll NEVER return to the nasty problem that left you stumped or discouraged or completely exhausted, but you will. You’ll find yourself rejuvenated and full of new, brilliant ideas when you’re ready. That itch will suddenly be there, like it had never left.
